RF JOB 17:1 My spirit is writhing in pain
My days flying fast to the grave!
RF JOB 17:2 Altho' my deriders withstand,
As an obstacle fixed in my sight!
RF JOB 17:3 Oh! fix now my bail for Yourself;—
But who will give bond on my part?
RF JOB 17:4 For You take common sense from their hearts,
And so You rely not on them,
RF JOB 17:5 To decide on the fate of their friend,
So the sight of their children shall fail.
RF JOB 17:6 I am placed as a proverb to men,
And become a contempt in their sight!
RF JOB 17:7 So with sadness my eyes are oppressed,
And my form is consumed to a shade.
RF JOB 17:8 The upright may wonder at this;—
And the clean from pollution be roused;
RF JOB 17:9 But the righteous will hold on his way,
And the pure-handed add to his strength.
RF JOB 17:10 But all you,—turn round, and be off!
For wisdom I find not in you!—
RF JOB 17:11 My days fly! My purposes fail!
The cherished ideas of my heart,
RF JOB 17:12 Can they change the night into day,
By light that proceeds from the dark,
RF JOB 17:13 When I measure my home in the grave,
And in darkness I spread out my bed?
RF JOB 17:14 When I call to my father, Corruption,
You, my Mother and Sister, the Worm?—
RF JOB 17:15 But if so, then where is my hope?
And my hope, who can ever behold
RF JOB 17:16 When gone down with my frame to the grave
If together we rest in the dust?
