RF PSA 80:1 To the Conductor of the Clarionettes.
An Historical Psalm, by Asaph.
STANZA 1.
Shepherd of Israel hear,
Guide Joseph like a flock;
Shine forth from the Kerubim's Home!
RF PSA 80:2 Before Benjamin, Ephraim, Manasseh!
Arise in Your Might, And come on to save;
RF PSA 80:3 O GOD, turn upon us the light of Your face,
And we shall be saved.
RF PSA 80:4 STANZA 2.
O GOD EVER-LIVING, of Hosts,
Till when slight the prayers of Your race?
RF PSA 80:5 You feed them with bread made with tears,
And measure out tears as a drink;
RF PSA 80:6 You make us a By-word to friends,
And at us our enemies laugh;
RF PSA 80:7 Turn to us again, O GOD OF THE HOSTS
And the light of Your presence will save
RF PSA 80:8 STANZA 3.
From Mitzer You brought out a vine,
To plant it, You Nations expelled.
RF PSA 80:9 You prepared for it, and it took root,
It rooted and filled all the land.
RF PSA 80:10 It covered the Mountains with shade,
And its boughs were like Cedars of GOD.
RF PSA 80:11 It sent out its roots to the Sea,
And as far as the River it shoots.1
RF PSA 80:12 So why have You broken its fence,
That all who pass by it may strip?
RF PSA 80:13 The swine from the forest devour,
And the beasts of the field eat its leaves;
RF PSA 80:14 GOD OF HOSTS, now turn to us again,
Look down from the Heavens and see,
And visit this vine,
RF PSA 80:15 And the root that Your right hand has planted,
And the Child You had reared for Yourself.
RF PSA 80:16 STANZA 4.
It is burned in the fire, like sticks,
It dies at rebuke from Your face,
RF PSA 80:17 Let Your hand guard the man of Your choice,
Adam's Son whom You raised for Yourself.
RF PSA 80:18 And from You we will never desert.—
Preserve us, who call on Your Name,
RF PSA 80:19 O Lord, the GOD of the Hosts,
Rest on us the light of Your Presence, and save!
