RF ACT 3:1 Cure of a Lame Man.
Once Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, three o'clock in the afternoon.
RF ACT 3:2 And a man, who had been lame from his birth, used to be carried, and placed daily at the door of the temple, called Beautiful, to ask charity from those who entered the temple;
RF ACT 3:3 who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked them to give him something.
RF ACT 3:4 But Peter, with John, looking intently upon him, said:" Look at us."
RF ACT 3:5 He accordingly paid attention to them, expecting to receive something from them.
RF ACT 3:6 Peter, however, said, "Of silver and gold I possess none; but what I have, that I will give you: in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!"
RF ACT 3:7 And seizing him by the right hand, he lifted him up; and his feet and legs were at once strengthened.
RF ACT 3:8 And rising up, he staggered, and began to walk; and entered the temple with them, walking, leaping, and praising God.
RF ACT 3:9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God;
RF ACT 3:10 and they recognized him to be the same person who had been accustomed to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with astonishment mingled with ecstasy over what had happened to him.
RF ACT 3:11 Peter's Address to the People.
And while he kept fast hold of Peter and John, all the people, being greatly astonished, ran towards them in the portico known as Solomon's.
RF ACT 3:12 Then Peter, seeing this, thus addressed the people:
"Men of Israel: Why are you surprised at this? or why do you stare at us, as if by our own individual power, or active piety, we had enabled this man to walk?
RF ACT 3:13 "The God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our forefathers, has magnified His Child Jesus; Whom, however, you betrayed and rejected in the presence of Pilate, when be had decided to discharge Him
RF ACT 3:14 But you refused the Pure and Righteous, and demanded a man, a murderer, to be granted to you;
RF ACT 3:15 while you murdered the Prince of Life, Whom God has raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.
RF ACT 3:16 And by the faith in His Name, this man whom you see and know, His Name has strengthened; yes, the fait which is through Him, has given to him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
RF ACT 3:17 "And now, brothers, I know that you did it through ignorance, as did also your rulers;
RF ACT 3:18 but what God foretold through the mouth of all the prophets concerning His Suffering Messiah, has thus been accomplished.
RF ACT 3:19 Change your minds, however, and turn back towards that which can blot out your sins: so that a period of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;
RF ACT 3:20 and that He may send to you the pre-appointed Messiah, Jesus:
RF ACT 3:21 Who must take possession of the heaven until the accomplishment of all that God has spoken through the mouth of His holy prophets for ages past.
RF ACT 3:22 Moses, indeed, said: YOUR LORD GOD WILL RAISE UP FOR YOU, FROM AMONG YOUR BROTHERS, A PROPHET LIKE ME; LISTEN TO HIM IN ALL THAT HE MAY SAY TO YOU.
RF ACT 3:23 AND IT SHALL BE THAT EVERY SOUL THAT WILL NOT LISTEN TO THAT PROPHET, SHALL BE EXPELLED FROM AMONG THE PEOPLE.1
RF ACT 3:24 And all the prophets, also, from Samuel, and those that succeeded, as many, indeed, as have spoken, have also promised these days.
RF ACT 3:25 You are the sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God executed with our forefathers, saying to Abraham: AND BY YOUR HEIR SHALL ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH BE BLESSED.2
RF ACT 3:26 God, having raised up His Son, has first sent Him to you, benefiting you, with the object of turning you all from your wickedness."
