RF ROM 16:1 Personal Messages and Salutations.
By this I introduce to you Phoebe our sister, who is a servant of the Kenchrean assembly;
RF ROM 16:2 so that you may receive her in a way worthy of the holy in the Lord, and support her in her duties which are for your benefit: for she has been a benefactress to many, and to myself as well.
RF ROM 16:3 Remember me to Priscilla and Aquila, my assistants in Christ,
RF ROM 16:4 who exposed their own necks for my life; to whom not I only, but all congregations of the heathen return thanks,
RF ROM 16:5 and to the congregation in their house. Remember me to my friend Epaenetus, who is the first-fruits to Christ from Achaia.
RF ROM 16:6 Remember me to Mary, who has worked well amongst you.
RF ROM 16:7 Remember me to my cousins and fellow-assistants, Andronicus and Jonas, who are distinguished amongst the apostles, and came to Christ before me.
RF ROM 16:8 Regards to Amplias, my friend in the Lord;
RF ROM 16:9 and also our companion in Christ, Urbanus; and my friend Stachys;
RF ROM 16:10 with Apelles, the approved in Christ; and the family of Aristobulus;
RF ROM 16:11 as well as my cousin Herodion. Best wishes to the family of Narcissus, who are in the Lord;
RF ROM 16:12 with those workers for the Lord, Tryphena and Tryphosa—remembering the good Persis, who has done much in the Lord.
RF ROM 16:13 Best wishes to Rufus, the chosen of the Lord, and to his and my mother;
RF ROM 16:14 and also Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, with all their brothers
RF ROM 16:15 remembering Philologus, Julia, Nereus, and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints with them.
RF ROM 16:16 Greet each other with a holy kiss. All the assemblies of Christ send you good wishes.
RF ROM 16:17 But I beg of you, brothers, to look after those who create disturbances and offences against the doctrine that you have learnt, and turn away from them.
RF ROM 16:18 For they do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own greed; and by their flattery and fair speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspicious;
RF ROM 16:19 for your fame has spread to all. Therefore, I am proud of you; and wish you to be wise for good, but ignorant in evil.
RF ROM 16:20 And the God of peace will soon tread the enemy under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. My assistant,
RF ROM 16:21 Timothy, and my cousins, Luke and Jason, and Sosipater, send you regards.
RF ROM 16:22 I, Tertius, who write out this letter, do the same in the Lord.
RF ROM 16:23 My host, Gaius, and the whole assembly, with Erastus, the city treasurer, and his brother Quartus, send their good wishes to you.1
RF ROM 16:24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. (kjv)
RF ROM 16:25 And the Almighty confirm you by my good news; and the preaching of Jesus Christ through the revelation of a mystery, hidden for ages of time,
RF ROM 16:26 but now displayed through the prophetic writings, according to the determination of the Eternal God, and revealed for obedient faith to all the heathen:
RF ROM 16:27 to the only wise God be glory through Jesus Christ in eternity. Amen.2

Written to the Romans from Corinth, and sent by means of Phoebe, the servant of the Kenchrean Assembly.

1. Verse 24 is entirely omitted by Drs. Westcott and Hort, as not belonging to the text.
2. Note.—In these three essays the Apostle Paul presents to mankind the whole of the Christian Doctrine in a systemized form from three points of view, with a sublime power of genius never equaled by any writer the world has produced, and with his natural genius for philosophic thought heightened by a Divine Inspiration to a depth of insight into human nature and all the faculties of the Son of Man, such as had never before been granted to any secular or inspired teacher. This has made him the leader of advanced thought for the past two thousand years, and has even compelled those who In our day profess to disbelieve in any Divine Revelation, to confess in admiration of his work that it embodies the essential Religion of the Future, and that the world is only dust becoming able to comprehend the eternal truths he enforced. We who believe know them to be Eternal, for they came from the Ever Living God.—F.F.
